13 DAYS WAY KAMBAS WILDLIFE, MENTAWAI TRIBES AND MENTAWAI BEACH STAY

DAY 01: ARRIVAL JAKARTA
On arrival in Jakarta meet our guide then transfer to Hotel for overnight

DAY 02:  JAKARTA – FLIGHT TO BANDAR LAMPUNG AIRPORT – WAY KAMBAS (JT 170 CGK TKG 07:00 – 07:50)
Transfer to airport for flight to Bandar Lampung
08:00 Landing in Tanjung Karang airport of Bandar Lampung
08:30 Meet and greet at the airport and directly drive to Way Kambas for around 3 – 3.5 hours drive
12:00 Arrive at Way Kambas National Park. Check-in at the Ecolodge
12:30 – 13:30 Lunch served at the lodge’s restaurant
13:45 Short drive for around 9 km to the Way Kambas Elephant Training Centre where you will be assigned a mahout
and an Elephant. (Remember to take some sugar cane from the Lodge garden to give to your Elephant to cement your
relationship). Proceed for a ride in the forest (30 – 60 minutes according to your taste). You can observe the activity of
elephant training.
16:00 Back to the lodge
16:30 Rest and free program where you can enjoy the fresh atmosphere and forest surrounding the lodge
19:00 Dinner

DAY 03: WAY KAMBAS BIRDING AND WILDLIFE
07:00 Early breakfast at the lodge
08:00 We will drive slowly for around 1 hour (13 km) to Way Kanan Station with a stop to see and hear the Siamang
Gibbons calling.
09:00 Arrive Way Kanan, you will then take a boat to Kalibiru (around 60 minutes). En route, you can watch the wildlife
along the riverside
10:00 Arrive Kalibiru you proceed on a fascinating walk either to a game viewing platform or to Rawa Gajah, a swamp
area where often Elephants are seen for a total of 4 hours on an easy flat trail. You can also use the boat (if you don’t
want to walk for too long) to explore the river in order to see the wildlife. Depending on the season, this area is
grassland or under waist-deep water. Sambar deer, wild pig, binturong, and the endangered white-winged wood duck
have been seen here. The trail often shows scats, pug marks and tree scratching of Tigers. This makes the trip really
exciting. Picnic lunch provided.

DAY 04: MORNING BIRDING – BANDAR LAMPUNG AIRPORT – FLIGHT TO PADANG (IW 1292 TKG PDG 13:25 – 16:35)
06:00 Early morning you can explore the areas around the lodge for birding
08:00 Breakfast at the lodge.
Transfer to airport for flight to Padang. Arrival Padang, transfer to hotel for overnight

DAY 05: PADANG – MUARA SIBERUT (B,L,D) – SATURDAY
Morning transfer about 06:00 or 06:15 depending on your hotel to Muara Harbor for boarding at 07:00 AM in the morning,
sailing to Muara Siberut. Breakfast box provided. Arrival at Muara Siberut after about 03 Hours 15 minutes (direct fast
boating) or if transit in Sakabulian after 4 hours in the boat then 1 hour waiting for loading more passengers before
continuing about more or less 2 hours to Muara Siberut. depending on the waves and other sea circumstances. Upon arrival
in Muara Siberut collecting our luggage as well as our equipment and assisting by our local team transfer by Angkot
(Public Non AC car) to the harbor while all of us only carry our day pack and valuable things with us while other stuff
goes straight to the harbor. While our local team makes report to police station and we prepare your lunch at the the
local House village, then walk to the harbor about 5 minutes or more (depending 0n the place where we have lunch) for

boating by small motorized wooden boat about more or less 2 hours to reach the Mentawai tribe land .The journey
could be longer or shorter depending on the depth of water as well as the current in the river. Upon arrival at the
Mentawai Village land, we off board the canoe and manage our luggage and equipment. Our porters will be ready to
help us to carry out our stuffs and together with us walking to the Uma Mentawai traditional house passing the muddy,
slippery single logs, sago tree plantation, jungle trek. Upon arrival at Local House, set our bedding while preparing the
dinner at Local house. Stay overnight at local house

DAY 06: THE NATIVE’S VILLAGE (B,L,D)
After having breakfast exploring the daily activities of Mentawai Tribe such as: search of Sago worm or making sago
powder (as the main food of Mentawaian Tribe) or fishing or traditional loin cloths process or making poison for arrow
or visiting neighbor Uma.
Noted: The activity inside the village depend on availability on the spot

DAY 07: THE NATIVE’S VILLAGE – TRADITIONAL CEREMONY (B,L,D)
After having breakfast exploring the daily activities of Mentawai Tribe such as: search of Sago worm or making sago
powder (as the main food of Mentawaian Tribe) or fishing or traditional loin cloths process or making poison for arrow
or visiting neighbor Uma. Join the traditional dances of Mentawai during the ceremonies in the evening.

DAY 08: NATIVE VILLAGE – MUARA SIBERUT – BEACH LEISURE IN MENTAWAI (B,D) – MUST BE TUESDAY
Return to Muara Siberut. Then meet resort staff then transfer to resort for overnight
