You’ll depart from Arusha, we proceed to Tarangire National Park for our game drive. One of the largest national parks in Tanzania located in Manyara region, this place is characterized by the large herds of elephants, tree-climbing lions, and the fascinating baobab trees also called the Tree of Life for its almost mythical powers that some cultures attach to it. This park is especially known for Tarangire river which flows all year round and the only source of water for wild animals during dry seasons.
Tarangire retains an air of undiscovered Africa, as it is less visited than other northern Tanzanian parks. It is a haven for birds. 550 bird species, the world’s largest selection found in one habitat, find their home in Tarangire. The stocking-thighed ostrich, the world’s largest bird, might greet you in its party dress of plumes!
You’ll then retire to your chosen Ndovu Tented Lodge for dinner and a good night’s rest. Full board.
We’ll take breakfast, as we’ve got a big day of exploration and adventure ahead of us!
Today we depart in the morning and drive through the small town of Karatu, Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the Southern Serengeti before reaching Serengeti National Park. The seemingly endless Serengeti Plains capture the essence of Africa. They are home to massive numbers of grazing animals and also various predators, and the interaction between the many species often provides some of the best wildlife viewing opportunities in the world.
Depending on wildlife movements and opportunities for sightings, the drive may continue through lunch and last all day.
Enjoy stay at Nimali Central Camp for 2 nights. Service: breakfast, lunch (or picnic), and dinner
Early morning breakfast then depart for full day game drives in Serengeti Plains
Continue with full day safari to explore the Serengeti Wildlife Park. Covering an area of 14,763 km², the Serengeti comes from the word massaI which means the endless plains. This is where hundreds of thousands of herbivores (wildebeest, zebras) gather from December to March in search of new pastures, a concentration of prey which also attracts many felines. Picnic lunch. Afternoon devoted to researching animals. Return to camp before sunset. Dinner and overnight at campsite.
Enjoy stay at Nimali Central Camp for another night again. Service: breakfast, lunch (or picnic), and dinner
This morning you will have time to further explore the Serengeti and perhaps visit Simba Kopjes, an outcrop of rocks favored by lion and cheetah, who can often be seen basking in the morning sun. You will spend your time doing en-route game viewing whereby you will be passing through Olduvai Gorge and will stop for a picnic lunch while viewing the archaeological sites (and visit the museum) where early human tools and fossils have been found. Continue driving across the Ngorongoro highlands to Farm House.
Today you will be staying at Kitela Lodge or Plantation Lodge for one night. Service: breakfast, lunch (or picnic), and dinner
We will wake up early in the morning and after breakfast we will drive into the Ngorongoro crater. The Ngorongoro crater has a diameter of about 20 kilometers and a 600 meter-high crater wall. The Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact crater in the world. The crater life estimated 30,000 larger mammals. In the center of the crater is a salt lake. This is one of the most densely populated wildlife areas in the world. It is a unique area where animals and humans as the authentic Maasai and Hadza live together. From the edge of the crater you look out over the impressive crater and its wonderful inhabitatants. In the afternoon we’ll drive back to Arusha where we arrive before dinner time.
