If you want to see the largest herd movement of animals on the planet and also visit the best national parks in northern Tanzania, this is the perfect itinerary for you. The focus during this trip will be on the western part of the Serengeti, where the Great Migration across the Grumeti River from May to July. The herds of wildebeest en zebra must outsmart the huge Nile crocodiles and fast-flowing water before facing predators waiting on the other side. An amazing spectacle.!

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, our professional driver-guide will be waiting for you with a warm welcoming smile, meet your guide for the drive to Katambuga House. Set on a picturesque coffee plantation, this charming lodge has beautiful views of Mount Meru and is the ideal place to acclimatise to Africa.
You’ll then retire to your chosen Katambuga House for a good night’s rest. Bed and Breakfast.
You’ll depart from Arusha, we proceed to Tarangire National Park for our game drive. One of the largest national parks in Tanzania located in Manyara region, this place is characterized by the large herds of elephants, tree-climbing lions, and the fascinating baobab trees also called the Tree of Life for its almost mythical powers that some cultures attach to it. This park is especially known for Tarangire river which flows all year round and the only source of water for wild animals during dry seasons.
Tarangire retains an air of undiscovered Africa, as it is less visited than other northern Tanzanian parks. It is a haven for birds. 550 bird species, the world’s largest selection found in one habitat, find their home in Tarangire. The stocking-thighed ostrich, the world’s largest bird, might greet you in its party dress of plumes!
You’ll then retire to your chosen Maramboi Tented Lodge for dinner and a good night’s rest. Full board.
After breakfast in the morning, we will depart for Ngorongoro Crater, there will be safari game drive in the afternoon as we arrive and we’ll head to our lodge in the evening.
The crater has a river, several swamps, a soda lake with a great concentration of flamingos, a forest and open plains. It’s also famous for its elephants which are the largest in the world and have huge tusks. This is due to the rich mineral content of the volcanic soil and its grasses. Ngorongoro Crater is truly a Wonder of the Natural World.

We’ll take breakfast, as we’ve got a big day of exploration and adventure ahead of us!
Today we depart in the morning and drive through, Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the Southern Serengeti before reaching Serengeti National Park. The seemingly endless Serengeti Plains capture the essence of Africa. They are home to massive numbers of grazing animals and also various predators, and the interaction between the many species often provides some of the best wildlife viewing opportunities in the world.

After breakfast, we head towards the far northern reach of the Serengeti National Park, also known as the Wagakuria. We will do a game drive en-route from the Lobo area to the Wagakuria area. As we head north, good sightings of giraffe, plain game, herds of buffalo and elephants can often be seen.
We arrive in time for lunch at the lodge and after lunch will we enjoy an afternoon game drive in the area. The wildebeest migration can normally be found in the Wagakuria area from August to October, depending on rainfall patterns. A long stretch of the Mara River runs through the northern Serengeti National Park and the Mara River provides the migration with its most difficult obstacle. Witnessing the frantic herds of wildebeest crossing the Mara River is amazing.

Early morning breakfast then depart for full day game drives in Serengeti Plains – Kogatende Area
Continue with full day safari to explore the Serengeti Wildlife Park. Covering an area of 14,763 km², the Serengeti comes from the word massaI which means the endless plains. This is where hundreds of thousands of herbivores (wildebeest, zebras) gather from December to March in search of new pastures, a concentration of prey which also attracts many felines. Picnic lunch. Afternoon devoted to researching animals. Return to camp before sunset.

After breakfast, we will have our last morning game drive at Serengeti North and afterwards transfer to the Lobo airstrip for your flight back to Arusha. Upon arrival in Arusha, we will take you to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight back home.
