The linguist, political theorist and philosopher Dante Alighieri made the Italian literature by exploring the human soul. Therefore he is referred to as the Supreme Poet. This grand tour celebrates Dante in his most significant and perhaps most unusual places between Florence and Ravenna, where the Poet lived his last years after the exile and where is his tomb. Dante is the father of the Italian language and one of the most important cultural characters of the country. Italy celebrated the Supreme Poet with a whole year full of events after 700 years since his death.

Meet&Greet in airport / station.
Private transfer to a luxury boutique hotel in the centre of Florence, check-in and free lunch.
First guided tour of Dante’s places: Defined as “tosco” in the X song of Hell and in the XXII of Paradise, Dante is known all over the world as a symbol of Tuscany and, of course, as the father of Italian language. You will visit Piazza Duomo, the House-Museum, Santa Margherita dei Cerchi’s church where the legend says that Dante met Beatrice for the first time and the House of Beatrice.
Dinner in a typical Florence trattoria and overnight.
After breakfast, the tour between the most important Dante’s places continues: Piazza Santa Croce, where is the big statue of the poet, the National Museum of Bargello and the Santa Trinità’s bridge. Dante met Beatrice only three times and one of them was on this bridge: the painter Henry Holiday, in his painted “Dante e Beatrice” portrayed them with Ponte Vecchio on the background.
After a free lunch, private transfer to San Gimignano. Guided visit of The “Collegiata di Santa Maria Assunta”, the “Torre Grossa”, which contains a painting of Paolo and Francesca. Vernaccia Wine Experience and dinner in the Rocca of Montestaffoli: Dante cited this wine when he met the gluttons in purgatory.
Return to Florence and overnight.
After breakfast, private transfer to Monteriggioni, on the Frangicena Route, not far from Siena.
Dante described Monteriggioni as the “infernal city” because of the legend of her ghost. Infact, it seems that in the city hovers the ghost Giovacchino Zeti, which, during a fight between Siena and Florence in 1554, he betrayed his homeland Siena.
Free lunch.
Return to Florence and free time for shopping.
Dinner in an elegant restaurant in the centre of the city and overnight.
Breakfast and check-out.
Private transfer to the Mugello’s area. The first stop is Borgo San Lorenzo, for a short visit. Then, visit of Scarperia and San Piero, one of the most beautiful Italian villages.
Free lunch in Marradi. Here Dante’s horse was stolen during his escape from Florence and because of the episode, Dante makes jokes with the name of the city and a similar Italian word that refers to bad-mannered people.
Arrive in Forlì, check-in and typical dinner.
Overnight.
After breakfast, private transfer to Brisighella.
In Dante’s Inferno XXVII, the Poet mentioned Maghinardo Pagani from Susinana for his contradictory behaviour in the fight between Romagna, faction of Ghibellini, and Firenze, faction of Guelfi.
Transfer to Faenza and free lunch.
Guided walking tour of this city: Faenza was much known to Dante, who in the Commedia cites several characters from Faenza or connected with Faenza.
Return to Forlì, dinner and overnight.
Breakfast, check-out and direction to Ravenna.
The first stop is the Church of Sant’Apollinare in Classe, UNESCO’s heritage, which probably inspired Dante writing the Paradiso. Near this, there is the pinewood of Classe, which, instead, inspired the Poet for Purgatory: “the thick and living divine forest”. Here is possible to rent a bike or ride a horse to enjoy nature.
Check-in in a boutique hotel in the centre of Ravenna, free lunch and free time in the city. Typical Romagna’s dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, the entire day will be dedicated to the visit of the city of mosaics.
The ancient Byzantine capital hosted Dante in his last years, after the exile from Florence and here he finished his masterpiece, the Commedia.
Walking guided tour between Dante’s places: the Museum of Dante, Quadrarco di Braccioforte, Centro Dantesco dei Frati Minori Conventuali and Dante’s tomb (free lunch).
