Introduction

A carefully crafted trip to experience the unique Himalayan culture and traditions along with a pleasant trekking at the foothills of the Himalayas. The trek is in the most beautiful Annapurna region of Nepal – the land of cultural, ethnic and geographical diversity. Here you will hike for 3 days through forest, mountain ridge and picturesque villages, staying at local mountain lodges, mixing with the people and their unique way of life and enjoying the breathtaking scenery of the Himalayas. The trip is combined with World Heritage sites of Kathmandu, colorful Lake City Pokhara and fascinating Chitwan National Park. Overall, the trip is a unique blends of cultural, natural and jungle safari experiences.

About trek: The trek is moderate and does not require any previous hiking experience. It only requires to hike for a few hours a day on moderate pace with several breaks. Your duffle bag will be carried by a porter. You have to carry only a light daypack with a water bottle, camera etc.

Though luxury accommodations are not available on trek, but our selected accommodations are comfortable with attached bathrooms and provide better services. Foods are fresh but simple such as rice, fresh vegetables, lentils, chicken, dumpling, bread, butter, cheese, eggs, soups, cereals, tea, coffee etc.

1
Day 1

Arrive in Kathamndu (1350m / 4430ft):

On arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Later, you will be briefed about your program. Walk around local area if time permits and enjoy the welcome dinner in the evening.

Day 2

Guided sightseeing to UNESCO World Heritage sites in Kathmandu

The rich tapestry of the cultural heritage of Nepal is synthesized in Kathmandu Valley, representing elegant architecture, refined culture, colorful bazaars and simple hospitable people.

Visit the Soyambhunath stupa on a hillock overlooking Kathmandu valley. Well known as ‘Monkey Temple’ the golden spire crowning, Soyambhunath is the most ancient and mystical of all the holy shrines in Kathmandu valley. Then visit Patan – the first city of Nepal. The ancient name of Patan is Lalitpur, meaning city of beauty. The city is believed to be the first settlement in the Valley and famous for its amazing collection of fantastically carved temples and palace courtyards. Patan is also famous for authentic Nepali metal crafts. Lastly, visit Boudhanath, possibly the world’s largest Buddhist stupa and a site of great veneration and Tibetan culture. Visit Tibetan monastery and painting school.

Day 3

Fly to Pokhara (850m / 2790ft)

A short and scenic flight will take you to the beautiful town of Pokhara where eye opening views of the Himalayas will welcome you. Nestled beneath the Himalayas, the lush natural beauty of Pokhara contrasts with Fewa Lake and mountain views. After check-in at the hotel, go boating on Fewa Lake, then visit the International Mountain Museums and walk around the colorful lakeside in the afternoon.

Day 4

Drive to Milanchok (860m / 2820ft) / trek to Astamkot (1500m / 4920ft) / 3 hours trek

After a short drive for about 25 minutes, the hike begins with gradual uphill through the forest with views across the Mardi Khola (river). Today’s entire walk is uphill through the forest which takes about 3 hour in gradual pace with breaks. Once you arrive at Astamkot, you will be amazed by 360 degree views of the entire Pokhara, Hemja, and Mardi valley with backdrop majestic views of the Himalayas. It is also one of the most spectacular places to view a sunset and sunrise in the Himalayas. After lunch, walk along the village to get an insight into rural village life living in these mid-hills for generations.

Day 5

Trek to Dhampus (1700m / 5580ft) / 4 hours walk

Today’s walk to Dhampus is very pleasant with breathtaking views of the Himalayas on the right and valleys on the left. The trek begins with climbing stone staircases about 1 ½ hours. In about 4 hours’ medium pace walk, you will reach at the beautiful village of Dhampus. Situated on a ridge with breathtaking views of the Himalayas, Dhampus is a beautiful Gurung village with stone houses. Walk around the village after lunch.

Day 6

Trek to Phedi, then drive to Pokhara (2 hours trek / 30 minutes’ drive)

Today you will descend through forests and terrace fields to valley floor 1000m/3300ft. Then you will be transferred to Pokhara by a vehicle. After check -in at the hotel and freshening up, you will have free time to explore beautiful city of Pokhara on your own.

Day 7 - 8

Drive to Chitwan National Park (150m / 490ft)

After breakfast you will leave for Chitwan National Park. It is about 4 ½ hours of beautiful drive through scenic Trisuli gorge and flat fertile land of Tarai in southern Nepal.

You will stay two nights at Chitwan village at the border of Chitwan National Park. These two

nights / three days Chitwan package provides different jungle activities such as jungle safari, boat ride, jungle walk, bird watching, tribal dance program, visiting tribal Tharu village etc. The activities will be in a small groups.

The park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the last populations of one-horned Asiatic rhinoceros and home of the Bengal tiger.

Note: During monsoon and post monsoon (usually mid-June to beginning of October), jeep safaris are not permitted to conduct by park authority due to slippery and muddy roads. Alternate activities are provided during this period.

Hotel Shanker: Hotel Shanker, Kathmandu is a heritage hotel, housed in a 19th-century palace within walking distance to popular places Thamel and Durbar Marg, Kathmandu’s tourist hubs. It was the royal residence of the rulers of Nepal from 1894 until 1964, when it was converted into a luxury hotel. The facade was kept intact but the interiors were redesigned to give travelers the kind of comfort they’d expect of a world class hotel.

Heritage Hotel Suites & Spa: A heritage hotel with beautiful artifacts, art and traditionally crafted fixtures in a traditional setting. Because of its outstanding architecture and very intricate and detailed arts, artifacts and craftsmanship, this hotel offers an exceptional experience.

Barahi Jungle Lodge: A luxury jungle lodge with its selective location on the banks of Rapti offers a breathtaking view of the National Park from its river facing stand-alone cottages. The architecture and interiors seamlessly blend with the jungle. The lodge has an infinity pool for relaxation and observing wildlife from the comforts of the lodge. The wellness spa at the lodge offers Ayurvedic therapies.

Local Mountain Lodge: Though not luxury, the selective accommodations on trek for 2 nights are clean comfortable with attached bathrooms and offers outstanding views of the Himalayas.
